Post 16 Achievements
The parent of a Post 16 student has said she is ‘really over the moon’ with how her son’s ‘confidence has grown’. She’s seen a ‘wonderful change’ in him as ‘he’s come on tremendously ‘ in his ‘reading skills and travel independence.’ ‘The prom was wonderful!’
Please see the fabulous pictures below from this years 6th form prom. A fantastic time was had by all and our pupils looked amazing in their outfits!
Our Coffee Bean Cafe takes place every Thursday morning. Class 13A run a small community cafe in the local Adwick, St Laurence’s Church Hall. This is open to the public between the hours of 10.00am and 11.00am.
Regular visitors to the cafe include parents, governors, former and current staff and students, two groups from Adwick SEC and a sizable group from St Laurence’s Church.
A variety of breakfast items including a full English breakfast, toasted tea cakes, crumpets, tea, coffee and juice as well as a selection of hot sandwiches are prepared, cooked and served by our students.
North Ridge United first started in 2015. Now into our 3rd year, more students are involved and this year students from secondary have joined the team.
We now have weekly training sessions where we practise passing, dribbling, shooting and play mini games.
We have made good links with other schools where we play games home and away. The schools are Oakfield Park, Robert Ogden, Coppice School and Pennine View.

The students feel part of a team and have the chance to build on their social skills by meeting unfamiliar students and staff from other schools. We have one student who now plays for Doncaster Titan on a weekend.
When we play our home matches the rest of the school are invited to watch and support the team which develops the student’s confidence, provides an exciting atmosphere and also give the students something to aspire to when they eventually move into Post 16.
